Explore Pompeii

The former city of Pompeii is found in southern Italy,s Campania region, near Naples.It is known for the ill-fated eruption of Mount Vesuvius during the year of 79 A.D., where Pompeii and several other villas were swallowed by ash and pumice by the volcanoe,s eruption.Today it is a massive archeological site, with ruins like the frescoed Villa of Mysteries and an amphitheater.Because of this, Pompeii attracts millions of tourists yearly.
